A little of You in Me

Have you ever thought about something you wanted but didn't really know what it was, yet, you realize it's certainly not in what you had? Searching for happiness in the wake of love only to find that it was never love at all and leaving you unfulfilled, yet, not hopeless but hopeful. I've seen that in me as well as a little in you.

And then someone comes along altering how you see life, without effort, just being who they are. A friend, a spirit and suddenly love chimes in.
I've seen that in me as well as a little in you.

Have you ever dreamed of what would make you happy, not the things in life,
but someone? Yet, you realize it's certainly not in what you had. Visions
of joy always just a grasp away hiding behind moments of contentment that
last a week or maybe just a day but not forever.

And then someone comes along that transforms your dreams to a reality, devoid of misunderstanding, needs that hamper and the little things that often cripple us; Someone that's more like you than even you yourself.
I've seen that in me as well as a little in you.

Have you ever drawn a picture in your mind of the perfect mate? How they
would look? How they would feel? How it would be to love and be loved by them. Only to find that it was, just that, a picture in your mind, yet, you realize it's certainly not in what you had.

And then someone comes along that is that picture. So vivid, so bold and
you wonder why you didn't see it before, yet, you have and now the picture
is back only this time it's real. I've seen that in me as well as a little in you.

Have you ever given consideration to how do we continue to make it in this
world, sometimes feeling so alone, sometimes so needy, yet, confident that
we can do this. Setting aside our needs for what you have to do. Finding happiness how you can, through friends and family; but you still feel
unfilled for your journey is long and it's certainly not in what you had.

And then someone comes along that fills those empty spaces as if they
understand exactly what you need. Using the right colors to shade your
days and the right light to guide your night. But how could they know, when you did not know yourself.
I've seen that in me as well as a little in you.

Thanks, Billy!
